As you can see, some bros STILL need a little more encouragement to attend. Please make an effort to contact someone on the “Yet to Respond” List. |

Here is a list of the other activities for the weekend:
Sig Tau Party with Phi Lambs*
Friday 4/23 at 8pm
Sig Tau House at 10 Court St.
*Some of us will be arriving Friday night to attend the above activity. If you plan to come in that night let Chuck know. Perhaps early arrivers can have dinner together before attending this event. We can meet in the Days Inn Lobby at 6:15 pm. If we know a number ahead of time we can make reservations at the new Villa on the Green Restaurant for 6:30 pm before the Sig Tau Party.
Sig Tau Alumni Party at Vital Spot at 3 Bank St.
Saturday 4/24 at 11 am
followed by Sig Tau/Ago/Phi Lamb/Phi 4 Way Breakfast
Ago House at 26 Wadsworth St.
Sig Tau/Ago Party
Saturday 4/24 at 9pm
Ago House at 26 Wadsworth St.
Phi Lambda Chi is celebrating their 40th Anniversary that weekend also. The Sig Tau Party at the Sig Tau House on Friday at 8:00 pm will also be attended by the Phi Lambs and their alumni. Days Inn at Geneseo may still have space. The number is 585-243-0500. The Country Inn and Suites at Mt. Morris has very nice rooms and is about a 12 minute drive away. The number is 402-501-6199. OR If anyone needs to stay overnight Dave Mead is offering his place in Mt. Morris. He says it’s not fancy but there’s plenty of beer, not to mention the Pepto Bismo, Tylenol and Metamucil.
NEW SIG TAU WEBSITE: For those of you who would like to see how well some of us bros have aged check out the Sig Tau Website www.geneseo.edu/~sigtau/ for pictures of us “young folk” at the Homecoming 2003 “Forty Years of Pride.” You can find them in the History and Alumni (alumni picture gallery) pages. Remember the crest and oar Chuck painted in 1964? As you will see they still have them.
PLUS:
They have a link for donations to their housing and their corporation fund and other projects on their alumni page. (A donation is a good idea since they will provide free beer and other goodies at their parties).
PLUS:
They are starting to put together fraternity group and activity pictures from past yearbooks (See the Yearbook Galleries link in Pictures). They have completed 1965-67. Recognize Torchie La Flegm anyone?
PLUS:
Bruce Jordan has done a SUPER job in his written account of the history of the founding of Sigma Tau Psi. Don’t miss reading it. The link to his article is in the History page of the website. We all owe Bruce a big THANK YOU for his outstanding retelling! It brings back great memories of an exciting time in our lives.
PLUS:
They current Sig Taus have suggested we continue our newsletter for our Sig Tau Old Guard. They would be willing to provide a link to the “Editor” on their History and Alumni pages where lost “old guard” brothers can subscribe to. The periodic newsletter will provide updates on what’s happening in our lives and provide info on upcoming planned events such as A Day at the Races, Homecoming, Alumni Weekend, etc. Anyone who was in a Sig Tau pledge class from 1963-1967 qualifies as a member.
PLUS:
They would like each of us to update our contact information for their database. (See Alumni page)
BROTHER UPDATES:
Sad News: The Alumni Office informed us that our brother Don Peterson ’69 passed away on December 29, 2003. He joins Dahn Walrath, Bill Brigham, Larry Allen, Lou Pettica and Don Fuller who have also sadly left us.
Good News: Freddie Welch ’69 sends his regrets but says he is alive and well and married to Bonnie Norman ‘68 (Clio). Fred retired from the Air Force in ’93 and is currently Program Manager with Northrop Grumman in Reston, VA. He lives in Centreville, VA (Outside DC and not far from Irv Beimler.). His two daughters are married and he has a grandchild from each. He is eagerly awaiting reports and pictures about Alumni Weekend. His email address is w5105@msn.com
More Good News: The Alumni Office has sent us addresses for Larry Patzwald ’68, Jeff Gosch ’68, Tom Crowley ’69 and Erik Wilson ’69. Invitations have been mailed to them since we do not have their email addresses and phone numbers on record. We don’t yet have addresses for Bob “Box” Kochman, Jack Piedmonte, and Jim Goldseth, Greg Sutherland and Bob Meyers but we’re still looking.
Stay tuned for the next Sig Tau Old Guard Newsletter to arrive around the 12th of April. Don’t forget to let us know if you’re interested in having dinner at Villa on the Green on Friday since reservations are strongly recommended. Hope to see you all “happy, go-lucky, bare-assed and free” at Alumni Weekend ’04!
