PLEASE CONSIDER A DONATION: Any amount is welcome. They provide free beer and treats at their parties. If we don’t donate and this costs them a lot of money they might not want to do this every year. Also, they donate to charities.
OLD GUARD BIOS and UPDATES:
 |
Dave Mead '68 writes that "he married Pam Coerse '68 right out of college and we had two kids (Heather and Drew). I went into the Coast Guard when I got drafted and spent four years in NJ. I went back to teaching in Mount Morris NY after that and taught Math and Science and coached track until 2000 when they offered an early retirement (Math teachers can figure that this is a good thing). I was divorced in 1992. Now I coach track at SUNY Geneseo, have |
my own computer business (www.lilbytesoftstuff.com) and have plenty of hobbies. I also officiate at high school track meets. I LOVE retirement (only in America can you get an obscene amount of money not to work). I currently live in Mt. Morris NY and am dating Sue Janczak (the former Sue Wittman '72). My kids are both doing well. Heather is Director of Education for a museum in Cape Cod, and Drew is well placed in an internet provider in Rochester."
Dale J. Metz '68 is a Principal at the Gateway Education Center (21 years/31 with Guilford County Schools). He lives in Greensboro, NC and will be retiring in June to teach college. He has been married for 35 years to Phi Lamb Sue Spasi '68. His daughter Jessica is a teacher and his son Aaron is a Teacher Assistant. smetz@triad.rr.com |
Thanks to Dave Mead for the use his and his son's website to post the Sig Tau Old Guard Newsletter. Those who cannot open the newsletter attachment can now view it on the website, eliminating the need to deliver it by mail. There is an archive link at the end of the current issue where you can view past issues.
|
 |
We still would like to see more bios and updates submitted for future newsletter issues. It is our intent to publish the newsletter at least three times a year. Send your bios and updates to Chuck at ccuratal@rochester.rr.com.
Don’t forget to let us know if you’re interested in joining us for dinner at Villa on the Green on Friday since reservations are recommended. And please remember to send your DONATION to the Sig Taus via mail or website. The next issue of the Sig Tau Old Guard Newsletter will be published sometime in late May when all pictures have been accumulated. Hope to see you all “happy, go-lucky, bare-assed and free” in Geneseo!
